I reached out to Pearl Performance back in February of 2021, after doing the KETO diet for almost 9 months and did not want to put all the weight back on that I lost. I noticed a couple on social media that I knew make some drastic weight changes, which gained my interest. I reached out to Pearl Performance on Instagram, and within minutes I got a response back from David Pearl. David Pearl was straight forward with me and told me it was not going to be an easy transition since I deprived myself from carbs for so long. The first two weeks were tough as I slowly introduced carbs back into my diet, but I was losing weight and keeping my muscle mass. I started the nutrition plan at 240 lbs and after almost 4 solid months I have been holding a solid weight of around 220. What is crazy is I now eat more food than I ever have and can eat carbs. I get many people come up to me asking how much cardio I do, and to be honest, I do very little cardio. I do a lot of strength training and incorporate a HIT workout in between sets. I have not changed my workout plan, I changed my nutrition. I have heard for years the gym can only take you so far, it’s the nutrition where results come from. After working with Pearl Performance for the last 4 months, I agree with that 100 percent. It took me 34 years to finally see my abs and with Pearl Performances help, I finally have a six pack.

Can I just say, SERIOUSLY!!!
I have worked with a few coach’s over my fitness journey, and David takes the cake more then a mile over anyone else.
Why? He is detailed, meticulous, and honestly cares about his clients and seeing progress not just profit. His plans are tailored not general, and he is always making adjustments as needed to make it work for you... not many coach’s are this invested honestly.
David has a passion for helping people in health and fitness, always expanding his knowledge and doing the dirty research to be able to answer accurately without hesitation any health question and it shows. Trust me when I say, I asked a TON of questions! Lol.
I appreciated the consistency in his advice, the quick replies, his ability to level me out when I had freak out moments in my journey to a better me. Without a doubt he is professional, courteous, and always kind. If he could be duplicated, so many people would be much better off being guided accurately in health and wellness.
His method works!! Just follow it!!

“You get what you pay for”. We usually take that as a negative but with David Pearl it’s the complete opposite. You get years of experience, years of knowledge, motivation, and encouragement to stay on track and crush your goals. According to myself I knew a lot about fitness and dieting and was hesitant to work with any trainer. I took a shot at working with David and couldn’t be happier that I did. I have the worst schedule from a coach's perspective and David knew exactly how to work around that in order to get where I want to. I came to David unhappy, overweight, and with a hurting body. I feel great. I have lost about 25 pounds throughout our journey. Built muscle and overall kept my strength through the weight loss. My meals were planned according to MY schedule none of that cookie cutter diet you might see elsewhere. I can’t recommend Mr. Pearl enough.

I had been working out with weights consistently for 5-6 years but had never really followed any sort of diet regime. Over the last few years, while I was gaining muscle and strength, I also was gaining a lot of fat particularly in the midsection and face areas. I tried the keto fad twice. First time, lost good amount of weight but then gained it all back when tried to introduce carbs back in. Second try with keto, the body wanted nothing to do with it. While gaining this unhealthy weight, I also then got put on blood pressure medicine due to marginal high blood pressure.
After a conversation with a friend Wayne (who is also a Pearl Performance client) during a fish trip Mexico, seeing my gut front and center in a lot of my pictures, and waking up each day with a new ache/pain, I decided it was time to make some changes to my lifestyle.
I contacted David about his services and his response was, and still is to this day, immediate. He took the time to find out everything about me. Current exercise regime, work schedule, food likes/dislikes, body ailments, goals, etc. We immediately hit it off and I decided that I was going to give it my all and have him design both a full meal plan and workout plan with weight training and cardio. Both were very well thought out and have been easy to follow. Anytime I’ve had a question in the 4+ month of being a client, David has always been there with a quick response.
So now, a few results in a nutshell:
•Down 30 lbs
•Strength maintained

Hello, my name is Leilani, I’m 36, mother of two beautiful kiddos, 2 and 7, and am a Registered Nurse. David has changed my life, literally! I’ve lost approximately 80 Pounds since working with David starting in August of 2021. I was at 252.6 Pounds in August (but had lost a little just before) and am currently at 183. 7lbs. David has been amazing to work with, extremely motivating, encouraging, supportive, and incredibly knowledgeable. As a Registered Nurse I know how important nutrition and exercise is but after 2 children and being misdiagnosed and on wrong medication (depression), extreme food cravings etc.…the weight was packed on.
In September 2021 I found a great psychiatrist who finally gave me the right diagnosis of ADHD. I got on ADHD medication and that alone was life changing. The food cravings almost completely disappeared but even when they happened, I remembered my goals and have done my best to not let them control me. From the moment I started working with David until now I’ve had EXTREME STRESS and Life CHANGES. I’m going through a high conflict divorce, moved twice, been looking for work, had some horrific things happen to me, and due to stress have had strep throat 4 times, been in the hospital with an infection, COVID, flu, colds etc.…The nutrition of my meals David has on my plan I know has helped me heal up quickly and made me feel good despite everything.
When I first started with David, He made a custom meal plan for me, gave me great advice and has continued to answer my five million questions I always have including regarding fitness. Prior to starting with him I was considering weight loss surgery, or a diet pill prescribed by my doctor. When I met with the weight loss surgeon, he said there was NO way I’d lose the weight on my own and my metabolism couldn’t “reset”, and I needed surgery. David encouraged me to try his plan and that he believed it would work, so I did. AND IT DID WORK!!! I started working out slowly on my peloton and doing cardio and strength training along with meal prep on my plan and the weight was literally falling off, I was shocked and so encouraged as David cheered me on and celebrated every .1 pound I’ve lost.
Even when I’ve gone off track due to life, David has supported and encouraged me and encouraged me to get back on the plan. I haven’t been at this weight since 2012, that’s 10 years!!!! I feel and look better and feel more confident than I have probably ever in my life. I still have weight to lose and am going to do a “Mommy Makeover” surgery in the future due to the loose skin and changes my body has made due to children. I still do my peloton for cardio and do strength training and meal prep as best I can through all the stress and busy life, being a single mom and going through a divorce.
David has not only educated me on nutrition and fitness in ways I would never believe, but he’s been an emotional support coach, although that’s not his official title lol. He’s truly amazing and I refer anyone and everyone I can to him, you won’t regret working with this amazing man.

I started working with Pearl Performance in January of 2023. After several doctor visits, invasive procedures, and talks of me having my Gallbladder removed, I decided to try to take a nutritional approach to see if I could find relief. I first came to David looking for a solution due to years of me having stomach issues. While David reminded me he was not a Physician, he believed that with a strictly balanced diet, we could obtain positive results. David provided me with a nutritional plan which was tailored to my dietary restrictions; within the first two weeks, I noticed my daily spats of nausea and bloating started to subside. By week four, it was completely gone. By the end of my first twelve weeks with Pearl Performance, I was feeling the best I have felt in almost five years and was down 16 lbs (an extra perk if you ask me). At about week fourteen, I had a follow-up with my GI surgeon, who was blown away by my improvement and suggested that I stick with David's nutritional plan; in his own words, "Sounds like you found a nutritionist who knows what he's doing, and cares for his clients you should stick with it as the quality of life is really not always the best with Gallbladder removal surgery." I am grateful for the time and energy David has spent listening to my concerns and helping me feel better.

I tried to please others who were saying I was too thin and gained some weight back, but all I had to do was get back to eating right, staying busy, and I dropped the weight fast. I knew David for a year or two before starting on a nutrition plan. I’ve always been active (working out, playing sports) and never really felt like I was overweight. Getting into my 40’s, I’ve noticed that pounds pile on easier and are tougher to get off. When I got to about 234lbs (about 30lbs overweight) is when I finally asked David for help.
David took the time to understand my life schedule (work, working out, home life, etc) and developed a nutrition/meal plan around my busy lifestyle. I lost over 25 pounds in just over 8-weeks which sounds crazy…but with David’s guidance, support and nutrition, meal planning (portion control!!)…it really wasn’t hard at all. I kept telling him that the hardest part (aside from meal prepping) was eating meals so frequently (breakfast, lunch, 3pm and dinner).
Bottom line, David knows what he’s doing and is good at it. He’s supportive, responsive and I couldn’t recommend him more for someone looking for nutrition, meal planning guidance or personal training.

I met David at my gym and instantly could tell he was a solid guy. I opted to go with his nutrition coaching because of his knowledge and how easy he was to communicate with. I suffered with major acid reflux for the last 10 years. I used prescription medicine and slept in an adjustable bed because it was so bad. David was pretty confident that diet would really help if not rid me of my acid reflux, I definitely was skeptical as I felt I tried everything. Week 2 of his program I had zero incidents of reflux, literally a miracle as I struggled daily with it. David created a super easy-to-follow plan with a variety of ingredients that enabled me to continue being creative in the kitchen and make tasty food. I went three months without eating a cheat meal, and it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.
The pace in progress was right for me - not only did I lose weight without ever feeling hungry, but the energy I gained through eating right helped me do so many other activities I've put off because of low energy and anxiety. Since I have been 15 years old, I have always been into health and fitness.
